IKAR in Mass MediaBarley exports from Russia to Egypt at a historic high this year, export agency saysMOSCOW, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Russia exported a record volume of barley to Egypt in January to October this year of more than 32,000 tons, Russia's state agriculture export agency Agroexport said on Wednesday. The bulk of the shipments, worth a total of almost $8 million, took place in October. It was the largest volume of barley exports to Egypt, one of the biggest importers of Russian wheat, ever recorded, according to the export agency. The last major shipment was made in 2019, when the export value was just over $1.1 million. Small batches were also shipped in 2023. Total barley exports from Russia exceeded 3 million tons in the first 10 months of 2025, Agroexport said. The largest importers of Russian barley are Iran, Saudi Arabia and China. Russia expects a higher barley harvest in 2025 than in the previous year.
