IKAR raised the forecast for wheat harvest in the Russian Federation in 2025 by 1 million tons to 87 million tons

interfax. ru - The Institute of Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) has once again raised its forecast for the wheat harvest in the Russian Federation and its export potential for the current agricultural year (July 2025-June 2026).

As IKAR CEO Dmitry Rylko told Interfax, the wheat harvest forecast has been increased by 1 million tons to 87 million tons, and the estimate of its export potential has also grown by the same amount to 44 million tons.

"The grain production forecast is increasing from 132.8 million tons to 135 million tons. The grain export potential is up to 56.5 million tons from 55 million tons," he said.

As Rylko explained, IKAR's new forecasts are mainly due to higher-than-expected wheat yields in Siberia, the Urals, as well as in the central and Volga regions.

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the grain harvest this year is expected to be 135 million tons, including 90 million tons of wheat.

According to Rosstat (without new regions), in 2024, the Russian Federation harvested 125.9 million tons of grain, including 82.6 million tons of wheat.
