Russia could make 7 million mt of sugar in 2022/23

Russia could produce 7 million mt of sugar in 2022/23, up from 5.7 million mt last year, thanks in part to a recovery in sugar yields, according to IKAR.

This would be enough to meet the local demand, supply a 250,000mt intervention fund and for regional exports. Meanwhile, farmers planted beet on 169,100ha as of April 8, up from 49,800ha at the same time last year and 15.8% of the expected total, the ministry of agriculture said.

Based on the article: Sugar beet sowing-2022: Krasnodar sowed more than 80% of the plan by April 8 https://ikar-ru.translate.goog/1/lenta/744/?_x_tr_sch=http&_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en
