RF: 2018/19 beet acreage expected to be down 6%

According to official sources, about 1,130,000 ha of sugarbeet have been sown for the upcoming 2018/19 season. This is down 6% when compared to 2017.

In addition and according to most recent beet test results, plant development is significantly slower than in previous years with both root and top mass index being down respectively 13.5% and 36.7% when compared to 2017.
