Russian wheat export prices climb on strengthening rouble

Russian wheat export prices rose last week as the rouble strengthened, making grain less competitive on dollar-denominated global markets, analysts said on Monday (February 1).

Black Sea prices for Russian wheat with 12.5% protein content were at USD182 a tonne fob board basis at the end of last week, up USD2 from a week earlier, Russian agricultural consultancy IKAR said in a note.
