Russia Seen by Ikar Reducing Sugar Exports 80% for This Season

Jan. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Beet-sugar exports may be no more than 40,000 t compared to more than 205,000 t last season, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, known as Ikar, says on website today. Exports of molasses may be no more than 500,000 t this season vs 560,000 t in 2011-12 Exports of beet pulp may exceed 635,000 t vs 630,000 t in 2011-12 Marketing year in Russian sugar industry is from Aug. 1 through July 31. Russia became beet-sugar exporter for the first time last season, according to Agr Ministry data.
