IKAR lowers Russia wheat export forecast in 2026/27 season to 44.5 million tons

Reuters

MOSCOW, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Russia's IKAR consultancy on Tuesday lowered its forecast for the country's wheat export potential in the current 2026/27 marketing season to 44.5 million metric tons from a previous expectation of 45 million tons.

IKAR now forecasts wheat production at 90 million tons due to smaller spring wheat planting areas, down from 90.5 million tons. Total grain production is estimated at 138.5 million tons, down from a previous forecast of 140 million, and total grain export potential at 60 million tons, down from 61.5 million.
