The sugar beet harvest in Russia is almost complete

According to the Institute of Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR), sugar beet in Russia has already been harvested from nearly 95% of the sown areas (1,202 thousand hectares were occupied by this crop in 2025), which is 4% less than at the same date in 2024.

However, its yield across the country this year is 5.8% higher than last year and stands at 404.9 tons per hectare, despite a decrease of 11.8% in the South. Other macro-regions showed growth in this indicator. A total of 46.2 million tons of sugar beet had been harvested by November 21 (plus almost 2.4 million tons compared to last year).

As of November 17, sugar production amounted to 4.15 million tons (more than 4.2 million tons in 2024), with 2.55 million tons of beet remaining (3.6 million tons).
