IKAR in Mass and Industry Media Russia May Refine 2.73 Million Metric Tons of Sugar, IKAR Says Bloomberg Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Russia may refine 2.73 million metric tons of sugar from domestically grown beets in the season that started on Aug. 1 and ends on Feb. 28, the Institute for Agriculture Market Studies said. The Moscow-based researcher, also known as IKAR, previously forecast Russian sugar output at about 2.74 million tons, analyst Yevgeny Ivanov said by phone today. The forecast was lowered because of decay in stored beets, he said. Output was 3.22 million tons in the 2009-2010 season, Ivanov added. 28.01.11
