Think tank lowers 2010 Russia beet sugar otuput

MOSCOW, Sept. 9 (Reuters) - The Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) has lowered its forecast for Russia's white sugar output from domestic beets in 2010 to 2.65 million tonnes, leading sugar market analysts said on Thursday.

"This year, the root size is very small. The sugar content started falling and in some regions the roots began to rot," IKAR's Yevgeny Ivanov told Reuters.

Previously, the institute forecast the output to fall to 2.8 million tonnes.
