Russian wheat crop seen at 79.5 mln T this year -IKAR

PARIS, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Russian wheat production this year could reach 79.5 million tonnes, one of the biggest volumes ever, after farmers sowed a record winter wheat area, consultancy IKAR said on Friday.

The firm's initial outlook was also based the expectation that spring wheat sowing in Russia would be stable or above last year's level, IKAR's head Dmitry Rylko told Reuters on the sidelines of the Paris Grain Day conference.
