Russia’s Record Sugar Exports May Top 1m Tons in 2019-20: IKAR

(Bloomberg) -- Russia could export record 0.9m-1m tons of beet sugar in the 2019-20 season started in August, consultant IKAR says in a report.

? Exports already totaled 306,000 tons from August through November, up from 76,000 tons during the same period a year earlier

? Markets include former Soviet republics and countries such as Serbia and Mongolia

? Russia may produce more than 7.4m tons of sugar this season, a record

? That’s the fourth straight season of output exceeding consumption
