IKAR in Mass and Industry Media Russia- Sugar production to fall below consumption: IKAR Platts/Kingsman Daily Sugar News The Russian Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) has revised its forecast for Russian sugar production to fall to 5.5 million-5.8 million mt, down from earlier estimates of 5.8 million-6 million mt, according to the organization. Russian sugar consumption is estimated at 6 million-6.1 million mt, surpassing production estimates. Despite this shortfall, IKAR believes that the sugar balance will remain positive. "Taking into account imports of at least 300,000 mt, as well as excess stocks accumulated over three seasons, the balance will remain positive. Some export potential remains," said Yevgeny Ivanov, an expert at IKAR. Platts/Kingsman Daily Sugar News http://platts.com/commodity/agriculture/sugar 22.10.18
