Russia's Ikar raises forecast for 2018 grain crop

MOSCOW, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Moscow-based agriculture consultancy IKAR has raised its forecast for Russia's 2018 grain crop to 109.4 million tonnes from 108.6 million tonnes, it said in a note on Monday.

* It raised its forecast for the 2018 wheat crop to 69.8 million tonnes from 69.3 million as improved weather sped up harvesting across Urals and Siberia

* "We expect a worsening of the situation there by the end of this week when almost all grain is going to be already collected," IKAR said

* It raised its forecast for corn production by 200,000 tonnes to 10.8 million tonnes as crop yields improved in Russia's southern and central regions
