EMEA CROP WEATHER: Central Russian Weather Favors Sugar Beets

(Bloomberg) -- Russia’s Central Federal District will get light rains and warm temperatures ranging from 22C-33C during the daytime on Friday through Sunday, according to the government’s weather center.

The warm and moderately humid weather benefits the development of sugar beets in the region that grows about two-thirds of Russian sugar beets used to produce white sugar, according to consultant IKAR

Cold weather delayed start of planting in spring but beets have mostly been able to catch in development due to sufficient rain and warmth afterward, Evgeny Ivanov, analyst at IKAR, says in phone interview

“There’s no issues with beet condition in the central region”
