An expert at the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies or Ikar told Interfax that sugar stocks in the south of Russia were lower at 42,000mt against 55,000 mt last year. This was partly because of the winter Olympics in Sochi and because of increased domestic tourism in Crimea. But overall, stocks across the country would be enough and were about average, although not high for the season. Thus while sugar prices could rise, this was not expected to be more than by one ruble.
