About IKAR

The Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) is a private infocentric consultancy engaged in analysis of the domestic Russian and global agricultural and food systems.

IKAR's core competencies focus on Russia's agricultural commodity markets, with particular expertise in grain, oilseeds, sugar, meat, dairy, fresh produce. The Institute's research covers the whole vertical commodity chain, from input supply to distributing and retailing of finished products.

The agency provides analytical services across a broad spectrum of issues and generates both short- and long-term commodity market outlooks.

IKAR possesses its own network of market data sources in Russian regions, down to the grass root level of individual firms and farms. It enjoys access to the databases of the Russian Statistics Bureau, Federal Customs Service, Ministry of Agriculture and other domestic and foreign institutions.

The Institute is engaged in agribusiness industry associations. Its leaders are much sought for advisory boards and ad-hoc working groups by the Russian federal authorities on issues of domestic agricultural and food policy.

From 2010 onwards IKAR is the member of the Global AgriBenchmark project.
